TWO JOHNS TAPHOUSE

TECHNE ARCHITECTS

Architect: Techne Architects // Photography: Will Watt // Project Overview: Located within the Melbourne Airport, Two Johns Taphouse is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional pub. Inspired by the crafting of beer in breweries, timber and raw steel were used to create a robust environment in a contemporary way. Detailed joinery creates a subtle hand crafted feel throughout the space. Timber beams spanning the interior of the pub to the terrace create a visual connection between the pub and terrace which helps to extend the pub space, blurring the physical barrier between the two areas.
